5. Surface treatment

Surface treatment: grinding operation to optimize the quality of the surface. The grinding of nippers is an elaborate process which is performed by high-precision machines. The working of the joint area is particularly emphasised by J.A. HENCKELS INTERNATIONAL because an accurate shape is decisive for the efficiency of the nippers.

The manufacturing steps are:

1. The between blade and box blade are rough-dry ground and fine-dry ground.
   
   
2. Cutting: Grinding.
   
   
3. Nickel plating for normal steel nippers; polishing.
   
   
4. The surface of high-grade steel nippers is polished or/and brushed.

6. Honing and Final Inspection

The manufacturing steps are:

1. Seal filing and sharpening of the blade.
   
   
2. Honing on an oilstone.
   
   
3. Testing the cutting performance and the closing force of the nippers.
   
   
4. All production stages are subject to stringent and regular quality control.
